Financial aid and Insurance
The Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (C.A.F.) provides housing assistance. Financial aid starts only from the second month of rent. To benefit from this, you must submit an online request on the website http://www.caf.fr.
You will also need to provide a copy of your birth certificate translated into French. The translation can be provided by companies such as Melting Trad or Alphatrad.
Additionally, you must take out insurance for the duration of your apartment rental (covering fire, water damage, theft, etc.). Insurance companies for students (like SMERRA) offer contracts at attractive rates.
