Thèmes de Recherche
Le LPCplus est une Unité Mixte de Recherche de l’Université Clermont Auvergne et du CNRS (UMR 6533), appartenant à l’Institut de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules (IN2P3). Depuis 2017, le laboratoire est la réunion d’une UMR et de trois équipes associées : LAEPT (Laboratoire Arc Electrique et Plasmas Thermiques), LPC (Laboratoire de Physique Corpusculaire), PCSN/C-biosenss (Physico-Chimie des Surfaces Nanostructurées) et RGM (Réparation du Génome Mitochondrial). L’Unité conduit des recherches théoriques et des projets expérimentaux s’appuyant sur son c?ur scientifique.
Dans le cadre de collaborations internationales, notamment en Europe au CERN, le LPCplus développe des activités de recherche à caractère fondamental, allant du monde de l'infiniment petit (les particules les plus élémentaires, leurs inte?ractions, les noyaux) au monde de l'infiniment grand (l'astroparticule et la cosmologie).
Ses activités s'étendent également sur les domaines des plasmas, des sciences du vivant et de l'environnement, réunissant physiciens, biologistes et physico-chimistes en tirant parti du savoir-faire du laboratoire sur l’instrumentation et les détecteurs.
