The project "The Culture of Refugees Told by Refugees" is based on creating an information space about refugee culture for everyone: volunteers, social workers, and residents of Clermont-Ferrand.

This project arose from several observations:

  • The opportunities for refugees to speak out are limited.
  • Those working daily alongside refugees have expressed a need to enhance their cultural knowledge about refugees to better understand, welcome, and support them in their integration journeys.
  • The reception and integration of refugees is a collective responsibility. While social workers and volunteers support refugees daily, every resident of Clermont-Ferrand can also play a role. For social integration to succeed, it is essential to increase contact between refugees and all members of the host community.
The project's objective, funded by the Territorial Contract for the Reception and Integration of Refugees in Clermont-Ferrand, is to provide practical information through short video capsules created from the testimonies of refugees. This space will be accessible to everyone via the creation of a YouTube channel.

It thus complements the existing initiatives in Clermont-Ferrand regarding intercultural training and is made available not only to professionals but also to the wider civil society.
